The Methodist Girls' high School

Today, January 1, 2020, the Methodist Girls' high School, a Christian Girls' institution in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa is celebrating 140 years. While doing a research for an article about the school's motto Honour Before Honours for a magazine and this website, I bumped into an interesting fact.

I was amazed that two other Christian Girls' institutions, The Wynberg Girls; High School in Cape Town, South Africa founded in 1884, and The Brisbane High School for Girls, in Australia, founded in 1899 shared the same motto Honour Before Honours. This has motivated me to further undertake research into the relationship of these institutions and the founders.

Alumnae who belong to Methodist Girls' High School Associations in their countries or states will enjoy a year-long celebration as these institutions raise funds to support the school in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Currently, there is a gofundme page that has been set up to build additional classrooms for the school to have a one shift system as it used to in the past.

Please support the Methodist Girls' High School, Freetown, Sierra Leone.

Thank you!
